Friends of the Moorabool River can now be part of the Fluker Post Research Project!

As part of Corangamite CMA’s The Living Moorabool project funded through the Victorian Government’s Flagship Waterways initiative, two new Fluker posts have been installed along the Moorabool River. One is located about 3-5 minutes along the southern branch of the walking track at Moorabool River Reserve, Dog Rocks Road, Batesford. The other is located a short walk from the Meredith Education Area campground near Meredith.

The Fluker Post project was developed by Dr Martin Fluker from Victoria University, with the aim of engaging the community to monitor environmental change over time. Since 2008 the posts have been installed at more than 150 locations across south-eastern Australia, including multiple sites along the Great Ocean Road coastline.

The top of each aluminium or wooden Fluker post has a cradle that fits any phone or camera. Participants can send their photos to the email address listed on each Fluker post, or use the new Fluker Post app to upload photos directly. The free app can be downloaded through iTunes or Google Play. Search for “Fluker Post” or click on the links below:
